Jealousy can be a very effective tool to help you get your ex back. But it’s a tool with sharp points on both ends and needs to be handled with care. Deliberately making your ex jealous can and does work as a tactic for pulling your ex back into your life.
I’ve seen it plenty of times. Both men and women will start having truck loads of second thoughts about the break up the moment they see their ex having a good time with some one else.
This is especially true when they perceive the new squeeze to be a better catch then themselves. It’s double especially true when the good times their ex is having with someone else seem to be leading straight toward a bedroom.
But the problem with setting out to make your ex jealous is that the jealousy you create can so easily backfire on you.
Here are some “what ifs” to think about.
- What if your ex believes that your new squeeze really is a better person than they are? Any lingering doubts they may have had about the rightness of the break up might disappear in a flash of low self-esteem. I think this is particularly true of women, who tend to have more self-esteem issues than men.
- What if your ex, after seeing you with someone else, thinks this truly marks the end of the relationship? You have moved on and obviously have no interest in getting back together.
- What if you play your hand a bit clumsily and your ex sees right through the charade and realizes that you are deliberately trying to make him or her jealous? This smacks of desperation and is very unattractive.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t use jealousy to help you to get your ex back, but you have to be very careful.
Somehow you have to make sure your ex knows that you are only with this other person because of the break up and you wouldn’t want to be with this person if the two of you could get back together. This is not easy to do.
Jealousy can work for you, but it can also go very wrong. Think hard and be clever before using jealousy to help you get your ex back.
